چکیده
This article describes preliminary work on a research environment called Virtual Synergy to represent a shared virtual map of an area for multiple autonomous robots by modifying the GameBots 3D multi-agent system. The use of GameBots wil l allow multiple users to interact with robots and agents at different levels of adjustable or dynamic autonomy. By interacting with the robots as another team member, the users take on different roles to suit the situation: supervisor, peer, mechanic, teleoperator, and

Exploring Spoken Dialog Interaction in Human-Robot Teams
We describe TeamTalk: A human-robot interface capable of interpreting spoken dialog interactions between humans and robots in consistent real-world and virtual-world scenarios. The system is used in real environments by humanrobot teams to perform tasks associated with treasure hunting. In order to conduct research exploring spoken human-robot interaction, we have developed a virtual platform u...
متن کاملDevelopment of RoboCup@Home Simulation towards Long-term Large Scale HRI
Research on high level human-robot interaction systems that aims skill acquisition, concept learning, modification of dialogue strategy and so on requires large-scaled experience database based on social and embodied interaction experiments. However, if we use real robot systems, costs for development of robots and performing many experiments will be too huge. If we choose virtual robot simulat...
متن کاملVision-based interaction with virtual worlds for the design of robot controllers
This paper discusses the use of simulated robots in a virtual table tennis environment. Specii-cally, the use of a two-segment arm for the control of a bat and the possibilities of using vision as a human-computer interface are investigated. The motivation of this work is to provide a tool to test robot controllers in a challenging environment to perform non-repetitive tasks. The ben-eets of su...
متن کاملNavigation of a Mobile Robot Using Virtual Potential Field and Artificial Neural Network
Mobile robot navigation is one of the basic problems in robotics. In this paper, a new approach is proposed for autonomous mobile robot navigation in an unknown environment. The proposed approach is based on learning virtual parallel paths that propel the mobile robot toward the track using a multi-layer, feed-forward neural network. For training, a human operator navigates the mobile robot in ...
متن کاملInterface for Monitoring and Interacting with Multi-Terrain Robot Teams
Previous research on human-robot interfaces has been mainly concerned with interaction between one person and one robot or software agent. Yet, there are many scenarios in which multiple human-multiple robot interactions are possible, such as with teams of rescue robots, combat robot teams, or surveillance robots. Our work seeks to turn a fastpaced interactive multi-agent system (Gamebots) into...
